Archimandrite Anthony returns to North Ossetia
Today, at the "Beslan" Airport, more than 800 persons have met Anthony, Deputy Prior of the Alania Men's Monastery, who had been transferred to Dagestan, but then returned to North Ossetia after protests of local Orthodox believers against his departure.
Many people arrived at the airport with children and bouquets of flowers in hands. Anthony was greeted with loaf of bread and salt, and the icon "Last Supper", which was given him as a present by residents of the village of Arkhonka.
"I think that my further stay, which is defined by the hierarchy, will be held in my ministry here, in Ossetia, as it was before," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Father Anthony as saying.
Meanwhile, Zosima, the Archbishop of Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala, has treated the information that the appointment of Archbishop Anthony to Dagestan was abolished by the Patriarchate, the "Interfax-Religion" writes.
