Georgian's murder at detention by police investigated in Samara

The circumstances of the death of Mamuka Kakhishvili, a 19-year-old native of Georgia, who perished at detention by law enforcers, are now cleared out in Samara.

The incident occurred on November 10 in the Krasnoglinskiy District of Samara, near the cafe "Caspij", where a group of policemen were celebrating their professional holiday.

According to the policemen, three agents of the Special Police Regiment No. 8 went out of the cafe to have a smoke and saw Mamuka Kakhishvili, whom they knew as a person searched for a robbery, who was getting out of a car that drove up to the cafe. They recognized him and tried to detain, the GHN reports.

"Kakhishvili had a knife on him and rendered resistance. The policemen put the detainee into the car; and noted there that he showed no signs of life. At the hospital, doctors stated his death," said Nikolai Turbovets, Deputy Head of the Chief Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Samara Region, adding that policemen admitted abuse of power at detention; however, the casualty's brother, aged 25, had been convicted for robbery, while Mamuka Kakhishvili did not work and was even regarded to be among gang leaders.

Meanwhile, according to Dmitry Trishkin, Mamuka's friend, a group of young people, the casualty among them, arrived at the cafe to celebrate their friend's return from the army. A conflict with the policemen burst out after Mamuka Kakhishvili had left the cafe, where he went to find out whether there were vacant seats there, the Samara-based portal "Province" reports.

The story of Dmitry Trishkin, who, according to his version, was also severely beaten, is presented by the blogger under the nickname Сyxymu in the Livejournal.

"I saw how cruelly they were beating Mamuka - at his face, kidneys, everywhere; same as me. He was attacked by a whole gang. If I had been beaten not by 4-5 persons, but by 8-10, as he was, I would be able to talk to you... Then, we were handcuffed; someone called the police. Two police UAZ vans arrived, and policemen in uniform got out of them. Mamuka was already unconscious. They took him by arms and legs and just as a bag of sand threw into the rear compartment of the van, where they usually transport criminals. One of the policemen noticed that Mamuka was not breathing. Then, one of those who had beaten came up to Mamuka and pressed a burning cigarette to his stomach. The ash was burning on his body, but Mamuka didn't move," the blogger narrates Dmitry's story.

Let us note here that currently a criminal case under Article 286 of the Criminal Code - "Abuse of power" - was initiated on the fact of the murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has no comments of the casualty's relatives on the fact that Mamuka Kakhishvili had been on the federal search list.
