Makhachkala court cancels punishment of participants of anti-corruption rally

On November 15, the Magistrate Court of the Soviet District of Makhachkala cancelled the decision of the same Magistrate Court, which brought to justice detained participants and organizers of anti-corruption rally held in the city of Makhachkala on October 3. This was reported by Magomed Shamilov, Chairman of the independent trade union of law enforcement agents.

Let us remind you that on October 3 at 11 a.m. near the building of the Makhachkala Mayoralty a nationwide anti-corruption rally was held. At the end of the event, the protestors were dispersed by law enforcement agents. 28 participants of the rally were detained. Six of them were fined and released in the evening of October 4; the remaining 22 people were brought to SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 1 of the Dagestani capital, they had to spent night there and they were released only on October 5.

According to Magomed Shamilov, one of the organizers of the rally, the court decision has not been handed out to them.

He has emphasized that he and other participants of the rally, who were detained by the police, now intend to find persons responsible for their detention. "The main battle starts now, we will seek that all guilty persons bear responsibility for their actions," Magomed Shamilov stated.

He has also noted that he worries about future career of Judge Aliev. "I'm afraid that this act may negatively affect the career of Judge Makhach Aliev. However, justice is done, and those decisions have been cancelled," Magomed Shamilov has stressed.
