A decision of resettling residents of Novorossiysk from the zone of black oil terminal taken
Ecologists and activists of Novorossiysk community gained the object of decision of resettling tenants of the houses located near the black oil terminal. This was the major achievement as a result of public hearings on construction problems which passed off in the city.
It should be reminded that on September, 21, counseling with the community on the black oil terminal passed off but it had taken the townsmen and activists two years to gain the object of holding public hearings on the danger of the terminal's impact upon environment.
According to the ecologists, over 140 persons could register for the public hearings on November, 8.
In the very beginning of the hearings Mikhail Sidorov, Deputy Director General of "NMTP" public corporation, announced a positive solution of the question of resettlement of Zhukovsky street. This was one of the main demands of the townsmen and ecologists.
Over half a century residents of this street have been encircled by several enterprises in several buffer areas overlapping each other.
During a working conference in the Administration of the city the day before the hearings the management of the terminal and constitutors of commercial sea port took the decision of buying-out flats from residents of Zhukovsky street for their own needs and the Administration assumed the commitment of finding a way of purchasing the flats of resettled residents at reduced prices, web-site of Public Chamber of the Russian Federation informs.
The ultimate terms are not yet settled but the beginning of resettlement is planned for the end of this year. The townsmen met this news with enthusiasm.
