Dmitry Putenikhin accused of threat to life of state official
Investigators have filed a charge against Dmitry Putenikhin, the 21-year-old activist of the Other Russia, who splashed water in prosecutor, of threatening the life of the state official, who administered justice. This was reported today by the lawyer Svetlana Sidorkina.
Let us remind you that on October 28 Dmitry Putenikhin splashed water in the face of Prosecutor Alexei Smirnov, who represented the public prosecution in the trial on the case of riots in Manege Square.
"Investigator has filed charges under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, of threat to a state official. The maximum penalty stipulated by this Article is two years of imprisonment at a colony," said Svetlana Sidorkina, as quoted by the Russian News Agency for Legal and Judicial Information (known as "RAPSI").
Dmitry Putenikhin, who was convicted in 2009 for taking part in the action organized by the already banned "National Bolshevik Party (NBP)" in front of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), denies his guilt of threatening the prosecutor's life. At the same time, he declares his readiness to take responsibility for disorderly conduct, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
