Georgian NGOs demand restoration of Ivanishvili's citizenship

Today, the Georgian NGOs begin to collect signatures demanding to restore the Georgian citizenship for the businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili.

Let us remind you that on October 11 it became known that Ivanishvili would not be allowed to nominate himself for parliamentary elections in Georgia, since he was no longer a Georgian citizen.

"Starting on Thursday, 62 Georgian NGOs will start collecting signatures to restore Georgian citizenship to Ivanishvili and his wife," stated Yuri Vazagashvili, Chairman of the public movement "Save Life".

On November 2, Yuri Vazagashvili reported that, the other day, a meeting of NGOs' representatives had been held. In the course of the meeting, the participants decided to start collecting signatures, the "News-Georgia" reports.

"Everyone is interested in Ivanishvili's future plans. The authorities have deprived us of the right to know about those plans. Both the Saakashvili's government and the future government should know that the officials should listen to the society," Yuri Vazagashvili has emphasized.

According to him, the signatures will be notarized, the "Ekho Kavkaza" (Echo of the Caucasus) reports.
