Tigran Sarkisyan: Trchkan Waterfall in Armenia to be under special protection
Today, the Armenian government decided to grant the status of the specially protected area to the Trchkan Waterfall.
"The Ministry of Nature Protection has examined the issue and, in accordance with the order of Armenian President, made a decision to neutralize the risks. However, despite this, our ecologists have raised the question of granting the appropriate status to the Trchkan Waterfall to ensure no threats to the Trchkan Waterfall in future and to ensure a guarantee that water resources would not be used. Therefore, I suggest making a today's decision that the Trchkan Waterfall will be a specially protected area," stated Tigran Sarkisyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, at the today's meeting of the Government.
According to the official, the decision will be handed over to Armen Gevorkyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration, to ensure that relevant documents will be adopted by the local authorities, the "Tert.am" reports.
