Participants of a conference in Ingushetia demanded observance of the law "On rehabilitation of oppressed peoples" from the authorities

Within the framework of commemoration actions devoted to the victims of Ossetian-Ingush conflict in Nazran Coordination Council of non-governmental organizations of Ingushetia held a Conference of the republican community. The participants of the action adopted an appeal to the authorities of Russia and Ingushetia with advise on solution of the problem of Prigorodny district and Vladikavkaz.

The appeal the complete text of which was posted by leader of human rights center "MASHR" Magomned Mutsogov in his blog covers the measures which, in the opinion of its authors, could help solve the problem of the refugees from Prigorodny district.

In their appeal the participants of the Conference emphasized non-observance of the law "On rehabilitation of oppressed peoples" and also impossibility for the Ingush to return to the settlements of Terk, Chernorechenskoye, Balta, Vtoroy Redant and Popov-Khutor which in the opinion of the participants were "unlawfully included into the water protection zone by the Government of North Ossetia in 1996 - 1998". The appeal also states non-fulfillment of recommendations of State Duma of Russia on return of the persons replaced from Prigorodny district.

"Head and the People's Assembly of Ingushetia mast take efficient steps for return of the Ingush to the places of their former residence in Ingush settlements of Prigorodny district and Vladikavkaz. It is necessary for the institutions of state authority to strengthen their activities on establishing places of mass graves of the Ingush in the territory of North Ossetia and take measures for protection of constitutional rights and legitimate interests of the Ingush people", the participants of the Conference demanded in their appeal.
