Ex-militiaman, who issued firearm license to Aslan Cherkesov, convicted
A court in Kabardino-Balkaria has sentenced an ex-officer of the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Nalchik to two years of conditional imprisonment for issuing a license to purchase and bear firearms to Aslan Cherkesov, whom the jury has found guilty of murdering Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the "Spartak" FC.
Investigators and the court have found out that on August 19, 2009, Nurdin Kuzhev, being in duty status, issued, at the request of Aslan Cherkesov, a resident of Nalchik, a license to buy, own and bear a self-defence pistol.
Subsequently Aslan Cherkesov "purchased a 9-mm traumatic pistol STREAMER and used it on December 6, 2010, in Moscow for fatally wounding Yegor Sviridov." This is reported by the website of the Investigatory Department for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
The court found the evidence gathered by investigators to be sufficient for convicting Nurdin Kuzhev for committing a crime under Part 2, Article 293, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence causing death of a person) and sentenced to two years of conditional imprisonment, the "RAPSI" reports.
