Three officials in Dagestan convicted for misappropriation of 81 million rubles
Derbent district court of the Republic of Dagestan sentenced three officials to real and conditional terms of custody for misappropriation of 81 million rubles, republican Public prosecutor's office reported.
The court established that during the period from July, 2008, to January, 2010, Chief of the Department of lodging allowances of Derbent district Arthur Kirkhlyarov, his deputy Ramin Jambalaev and chief accountant of the Department Elmira Saparova entered forged data into consolidated reports on providing residents with allowances on household running costs and also wrong data of the number of families having a right of getting such allowances.
"Based on the forged documents submitted the Ministry of Finance of the republic additionally financed the municipality of "Derebent District" to a sum of over 72 million rubles which the above mentioned persons used at their sole discretion", a statement of Public prosecutor's office runs.
According to the data of Public prosecutor's office, after Kirkhlyarov's discharge from office, Jambalaev and Saparova misappropriated nine more million rubles, RIA "Novosti" reports.
The court acknowledged all the three persons guilty according to clauses "fraudulence committed by an organized group on an especially large scale" and "forgery by an official". Maximum penalty stipulated by these clauses makes up to ten years of custody.
Kirkhlyarov was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a general regime colony, Jambalaev to 3,5 years conditionally and Saparova to 2,5 years conditionally, Russian Agency of Legal and Juridical Information reports.
The court also granted in full Public prosecutor's lawsuits of exaction of 81,5 million rubles from the defendants.
