Stavropol court obliges international airport to take care of invalids
The Oktiabrskiy District Court of Stavropol has ordered the management of the International Airport "Stavropol" to equip the airport terminal with necessary equipment for people with disabilities.
According to Irina Kobozeva, Spokesperson of the Court, the lawsuit against the airport was filed to the court by the transport prosecutor of the city.
"After the prosecutor's inspections at the airport, it was revealed that all doorways, including doorways in the toilet, had the width insufficient for a wheelchair. Besides, toilets were not designed for the disabled in a wheelchair," the "Interfax" quotes Irina Kobozeva as saying.
Furthermore, the transport prosecutor's office revealed violations at the airport territory of the Airport "Stavropol".
The prosecutor's inspection revealed that in the territory of the October District of Stavropol, within the 30-km zone of the airport territory, the LLC (Limited Liability Company) "Stavropolskaya Stroitelnaya Kompaniya" (Stavropol Construction Company) constructs a multi-storeyed apartment building without permission of the airport's management. In turn, it contributes to impossibility to ensure the proper level for flight safety.
As a result, the administrative proceedings were instituted against the Company under Part 2 of Article 11.4 of the Code on Administrative Offences - "violation of the rules of using the air space".
In accordance with the consideration of the resolution of Stavropol Transport Prosecutor, the state inspector of the department for supervision over the activities of civil aviation of the Rostransnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in Transport Sphere) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) pleaded the Construction Company guilty and obliged it pay a fine amounting to 400 thousand roubles, the "RuFox".
