ICRF for Dagestan: member of Public Chamber kidnapped for ransom
The priority version considered by inspectors as to kidnapping of Nurakhmed Magomedov, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan, was claiming a ransom, the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported today.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 22 on the highway Makhachkala-Kaspiisk, two unidentified persons, one of whom was dressed as a road policemen and had a submachine-gun, while the other was dressed in black uniform without insignia and a mask, stopped the Range Rover car driven by Nurakhmed Magomedov, Director of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) "Arsi-2" and a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan.
"The criminals forced Magomedov into their black VAZ-2114 and fled towards the city of Kaspiisk," the ICRF reports.
The kidnapping caused initiation of a criminal case under the articles of "a kidnapping committed by a group of persons by using violence and firearms" and "illegal arms circulation," says the website of the ICRF. The maximum sanction under these articles is 15 years in prison.
