In Chechnya, National Reconciliation Commission to be abolished

The Chechen leadership has abolished the National Reconciliation Commission on, since it had been fulfilled its primary task - arrangement of blood feud conflicts.

"There are no blood feuds conflicts in the republic anymore. Therefore, this Commission was abolished, and tasks to resolve family, household and other conflicts are assigned to the Muftiat leadership," said Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, in the course of today's working meeting with Sultan Mirzaev, Mufti of the republic.

"Families, who were at blood feud for decades, now came to peace. This was made possible thanks to your initiative. During the time of the Commission's functioning, 451 conflicts were identified. I am pleased to note that all that conflicts ended in reconciliation," the "Chechen Republic Today" quotes Mirzaev as saying.

Ramzan Kadyrov thanked everyone who participated in the National Reconciliation Commission, thanked the families who had met each other and forgiven blood feudists, the "Interfax" reports.

Earlier, residents of Chechnya declared inadmissibility to reconcile parties at blood feud through threats and intimidation - and, according to them, such cases occurred. Sooner or later, the conflicts "settled" in this way can lead to new confrontation and new victims, they believe.
