In Azerbaijan, number of oppositional hunger-strikers goes up
Today, in Baku two opposition members joined the hunger strike kept by parents of persons convicted of participation in the protest action on April 2.
The "Caucasian Knot" reported that the parents of activists, convicted of participation in the rally held on April 2, on October 14 went on a hunger strike demanding to release their sons. The action is conducted at the headquarters of the "Musavat" Party.
According to the protester Arzuman Medjidli - the father of Elnur Medjidli, the convicted activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA)- Gezel Bairamly, Deputy Chair of the PFPA, and Irada Alieva, Deputy Chair of the Supreme Majilis of the PFPA, joined the protest action today.
"Thus, the number of protesters on hunger strike reached six people. And Ibragim Gadjibeili, the father of Rufat Gadjibeili, is on a continuing hunger strike," the Radio Station "Freedom" with reference to the "Turan" quotes the father of the convicted activist as saying.
Dayanet Babaev, an activist of the youth organization of the PFPA, and Orudj Novruzov, a member of the youth organization "Musavat", are also on hunger strike, the "Contact.az" reports.
In addition to hunger strike, the parents of the convicted persons are going to hold pickets and other protest actions.
