Seventeen persons registered as presidential candidates in South Ossetia
On October 14, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of South Ossetia registered Alan Pliev, Deputy Foreign Minister of South Ossetia, Eduard Gabaraev, the artillery commander of the local Ministry of Defence (MoD), Igor Alborov, Deputy Head of the MoD, and the local MP Inal Bazzaev as presidential candidates, making the total number of them equal to 17 persons.
On the same day, the CEC refused to register Alexander Mardanov, Director General of the "Invest Holding", Vyacheslav Gobozov, the leader of the Party "Fydybasta", Roland Kelekhsaev, the former leader of the "People's Party", and the entrepreneur Khokha Gagloev.
The CEC has not yet given the answer to two more initiative groups. "The registration of presidential candidates Batradz Dzuzzata and Svetlana Kozaeva is still pending. We still have not received answers to our requests from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia," the IA "Res" quotes the CEC's message.
