Swank to transfer her fee received for concert in Grozny to charities
The American actress and the two-times "Oscar" laureate Hilary Swank will transfer her part of the royalty, due to her for taking part in the gala concert in Grozny, to charitable organizations, her press secretary said on October 14.
On October 12, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) called the Hollywood stars and other celebrities who performed at the October 5 Day of the City in Grozny to refuse from their fees, because it "debases the sufferings of countless victims of human rights violations." On October 13, Hilary Swank expressed her regret for having made a voyage to Chechnya.
"The actress once again expressed her deep regret over her participation in the festivity, arranged last week in Grozny for the influential regional leader Ramzan Kadyrov, accused of violating human rights," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes Hilary Swank's press secretary with reference to the Reuters.
