Singer Shakira not to take part in City Day in Grozny

The world-famous singer Shakira has refuted the information that she will perform on October 5 in the Chechen capital on celebrations of the City Day.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5 Grozny will host large-scale celebrations. It is planned to open the "Grozny-City" complex. Also, a concert of pop stars will take place. It was reported that the Colombian singer Shakira was among those invited.

However, today the official page of the singer on the Twitter posted the information that the star has no contract to take part in the above concert:

"Contrary to reports, Shakira has no plans to perform at a concert for President of Chechnya," says the singer's Twitter microblog.

Shoshanna Stone, the official representative of the singer, has confirmed the authenticity of the pages in the Shakira's Twitter microblog, the AFP reports.

Besides, it was reported that Vanessa Mae was also planning to perform in Grozny, who was promised, according to some sources, remuneration of 500,000 US dollars. Will the world-renowned violinist appear in the Chechen capital? Nobody knows, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
