An official convicted in Kabardino-Balkaria for ungrounded refusal to improve a veteran's dwelling conditions

Zolsky district court of Kabardino-Balkaria acknowledged head of Home inspection of the village Administration guilty of negligence. She was accused of a groundless refusal in improving dwelling conditions of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.

The official was sentenced to a fine of 50 thousand rubles.

The investigation and the court established that in February, 2010, Chairperson of Home inspection of the settlement of Sovkhoznoye neither took part in the inspection of dwelling conditions of a ninety-years-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War personally nor ensured participation of the respective experts.

However, an act of inspection of dwelling conditions was drawn up according to which the veteran was refused subventions on purchase or building of a new dwelling.

But in June, 2010, after an inspection of the housing estate by an expert of district Department of Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Rostechinventarizatsia" the family was acknowledged as needing improvement of dwelling conditions, web-site of Committee of Inquiry in the republic reports.

During the new inspection of dwelling conditions the veteran died, RIA "Novosti" reports.

According to the judgment, the Chairperson of Home inspection was acknowledged guilty of negligence (part 1, clause 293 of Criminal code of the Russian Federation) and fined to a sum of 50 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to hold offices of authority.

The verdict has already come into effect. There are no comments from the convict or representatives of her defense yet.
