A person accused of disturbances in Manezhnaya square of Moscow appealed against his arrest to the European Court

Igor Berezniuk, defendant on the case of mass disturbances in Manezhnaya square of Moscow last December, appealed against his arrest to the European Court of Human Rights. This was reported by Dmitry Agranovsky acting as the defendant's attorney today.  

"Today I submitted a complaint to Court asking to acknowledge Berezniuk's arrest and prolongation of his custody term unlawful (part 1, clause 5 of European Convention for Human Rights)", Agranovsky said.  

He also added that Berezniuk asked to levy 100 thousand euro from the Russian Federation for violation of European Convention for Human Rights, Russian Agency of Legal and Juridical Information (RALJI) reports. 

Igor Berezniuk's defense asks Strasbourg Court to try the case on a priority and confer the defendant a compensation of 100 thousand euro, BFM.ru reports. 

It was already the second complaint submitted to the European Court by figurants of the case of disturbances in Manezhnaya square. Earlier, a similar complaint was submitted by another defendant, Ruslan Khubaev, ITAR-TASS reports.
