Representatives of Maksharip Aushev's relatives may address OSCE and UN on his murder

The lawyer Mussa Pliev has announced today that the official representatives of the relatives of the assassinated Ingush opposition leader Maksharip Aushev will ask the prosecutor's office to supervise the further investigation into his murder, so that it was brought to an end. Should the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) fail to move forward with the investigation of the murder, they intend to appeal to international organizations.

"We have addressed our application to the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO); and the decision to suspend the case was overturned. The defence of the Aushev family will ask the GPO to supervise further investigation, so that it could be brought to an end," Mussa Pliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He added that "the defence will seek to question several witnesses, which may be relevant for the case."

According to Mr Pliev, the defence intends to appeal to the OSCE and the UN, should the ICRF have no progress in solving Aushev's murder.

"They (OSCE and UN) will send their experts to participate in the investigation: it is practiced," said the lawyer, as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
