Project ''Smile, Yerevan!'' launched in Armenia
Within the Project ''Smile, Yerevan!'' already two buildings in the Armenian capital have been decorated with mosaic panels. The pictures are selected by the working group of the project, which comprises prominent artists, architects and entrepreneurs. The main precondition is the harmonic match of mosaics with the architectural appearance of the city.
"New facades bring freshness to the city, create atmosphere of joy and brightness," Arthur Stepanyan, a resident of the Armenian capital, shares his impressions. "However, they shouldn't go too far with it. Such buildings should not abound in the city. They should be few and very tasty. Yerevan is a pink city and should remain as such.'
Karina Beglaryan, another resident of Yerevan, finds the new style of buildings not very attractive. ''However, most important is that they have started at least certain works in Yerevan; and that they've started thinking about improvements. The start of such projects is important," she said.
