Deputy head of Stavropol administration is suspected of abuse of power
Vladimir Elichev, Deputy Head of Administration of the city of Stavropol and Director of the Town-Planning Committee, is suspected of abuse of power. As reported by the press service of the Chief Department of the Russian MIA for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) operative agents believe that Elichev had broken the order of granting land plots, owned by the municipality, in favour of some particular company.
According to investigators, by using his official position in the interests of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Stroyindustriya", he failed to hold a tender in order to prevent other bidders from acquiring the right to lease the land plot. He had prepared a draft resolution of the Stavropol Administration "On Approval of the Act of Selection of Land Area of 6.2 Hectares for the LLC 'Stroyindustriya'", which on February 10, 2010, was signed by the head of Stavropol.
The land plot was intended for erecting a sports complex.
The damage in the form of the rental fee under-received by the city budget made more than 46 million roubles, the "Interfax" reports.
