"Rospotrebnadzor": pupils got poisoned in Veshenskaya because of sanitary violations
In the course of a sanitary-epidemiological investigation held at the Veshenskaya secondary school of the Rostov Region, the regional "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) division has established that the school had broken the sanitary and anti-epidemic regime and rules of children's nutrition.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the press service of the "Rospotrebnadzor" that the check of the school was carried out after Veshenskaya had registered several cases of children's poisoning.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that three schoolchildren had been hospitalized in the village of Veshenskaya, Sholokhov District of the Rostov Region, with poisoning. The fact of poisoning forced the district prosecutor's office to organize a check.
"On September 8 and 9, the hospital received six children and one teacher. Their main complaints were vomiting, nausea, and fever. Four patients in the state of moderate gravity were taken to the Sholokhov District Hospital; three are treated as outpatients," the "Rospotrebnadzor" gave its revised data and added that house-after-house visits were conducted, and the school canteen personnel was subjected to laboratory medical examination.
The spokesperson of the "Rospotrebnadzor" has added that in order to prevent the waterway transmission of the infection, they took water samples at the school and from the water supply source. Currently, they study the documents on the quality of the foodstuffs used by the school canteen.
"Based on laboratory tests, we have diagnosed the reason - a second-type norovirus infection. Markers of these viruses were revealed in four employees of the organization, which is in charge of nourishing schoolchildren," said the spokesperson.
