NGOs of Azerbaijan and Georgia engaged in conflicts set up Coordination Board
In Baku, on the initiative of the "Organization for Liberation of Karabakh" (OLK), the "Coordination Board on Conflicts in Southern Caucasus" was founded. On the Georgian part, it includes a coalition consisting of 12 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and on the Azerbaijani one - the OLK and the Centre for Deportation Victims.
On September 8, the Board had its first sitting to define its directions and principles. The Board will render public support to fair settlement of conflicts in the region of Southern Caucasus, uncovering "of states-occupants", and assistance in solving refugees' and internally displaced persons' problems. It was decided to hold the next sitting of the Coordination Board within the next 2 months in Tbilisi. The Board is open to new members.
The members of the Coordination Board made their first joint statement, reading, in particular, that "the occupation actions of Armenia and Russia are the biggest obstacle to a stable and successful development of the region," the APA reports.
