Forty-four schoolchildren hospitalized with intestinal infection after rest in Anapa
Forty children, who were returning by train to Karelia from a summer camp in the city of Anapa, were taken off the train and hospitalized with an intestinal infection. They were taken to hospitals of Michurinsk, Tver, Ryazan and Moscow.
"Four other children from among those who reached Petrozavodsk were sent to the local infectious hospital," said Valentina Ulich, Minister of Public Health and Social Development of the Republic of Karelia.
According to her story, the remaining 56 children, who returned to Karelia, so far have disease symptoms; they were sent home, but in the next few days, they will be all examined by doctors.
According to the parents, who were in the train to accompany the group, some children already had signs of the disease, when they took the train in Novorossiysk, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The Moscow Interregional Investigatory Transport Department of the ICRF has initiated a criminal case under part 1, Article 238, of the Criminal Code (execution of works or rendering services that do not meet the requirements of life or health safety). The article assumes up to two years in prison.
