At rally in Yerevan, oppositionists urge people to participate in mass protests
In Yerevan, a rally of the extra-parliamentary oppositional Armenian National Congress with the main demand of holding early presidential and parliamentary elections was held in Freedom Square.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the extra-parliamentary rally of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) was held under the slogan: "Dialog is interrupted, our next steps". The rally began at 6:00 p.m.
Loud slogans were chanted in Freedom Square yet in the late evening.
The protesters focused on the unresolved political crisis, events of March 1, socio-economic problems and situation in the Armenian Army.
"Naturally, any protest action is necessary and leads to some good results. Unfortunately, external forces, such as Russia, Europe and the USA continue to support the authorities, and this fact creates problems for those who are struggling with the current regime. However, despite this, I believe that people should continue fighting," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Armen Gyurdjinyan, the rally's participant, resident of Yerevan, at the rally.
