Relatives of wounded Dagestani demand his treatment outside the republic
In Dagestan, the relatives of Ruslan Magomedov, who got a gunshot wound, were not allowed to take him for medical treatment outside the republic.
According to Magomedov's father, law enforcement agents prevent the hospitalization in another region because of the fact that the wounded was a witness in a criminal case.
Starting July 12, Ruslan Magomedov is in the national trauma hospital. His diagnosis comprises multiple gunshot wounds, brain contusion of medium gravity, and closed traumatic brain injury.
"Despite the long-term medical treatment, my son's health does not improve. The high temperature is holding, his leg muscles are atrophied, and his left leg does not function. Members of the medical committee of the Republican Trauma Hospital recommended bringing Ruslan outside the republic for a full medical treatment. However, the police officers hinder this; they claim that my son is a witness in a criminal case. And they don't tell us what kind of a case it is," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Magomedemin Magomedov, the Ruslan's father.
He also claims that the law enforcement agents failed to provide medical assistance to his son in due time.
"My son was brought to the hospital in very grave condition. Instead of calling the doctors for emergency medical care, the policemen drove my son away to some unknown destination. As a result, his blood loss was more than 2.5 litres. At present, the police officers don't allow parents, relatives and friends to visit my son," said the father of the wounded.
The reception ward of the Republican Trauma Hospital confirmed the fact that members of the medical commission recommended to hospitalize Ruslan Magomedov outside Dagestan. However, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reported that they know nothing of this case.
