Three defendants on case of riots at Manege Square in Moscow plead partially guilty

One of the defendants on the case of riots at Manege Square in Moscow in last December pled guilty in incriminated deeds, two defendants pled guilty in part, and two others did not consider themselves guilty.

Let us remind you that today the Tver Court of Moscow conducts the first session on the merits of the case. The prisoners' dock keeps Igor Berezyuk, Kirill Unchuk, Ruslan Khubaev, Leonid Panin, and Alexander Kozevin, who, according to the investigators, are the organizers of the riots.

After solving all questions of procedure, the court started the consideration of the case. The prosecutor Alexei Smirnov read out the gravamen against the defendants.

Igor Berezyuk is charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

They are: Part 3 of Article 212 (calls for active defiance of lawful demands of power representatives and to riots), Part 2 of Article 213 (hooliganism committed by group of persons), Part 2 of Article 318 (violence threatening life or health against power representative in connection with execution of his/her duties), Part 1 of Article 282 (acts, aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, committed publicly or through mass media), Part 4 of Article 150 (involving minor in committing crime motivated by political, ideological, racial, ethnic or religious hatred or enmity or hatred or enmity towards any social group).

Kirill Unchuk is charged under Part 3 of Article 212, Part 2 of Article 213, and Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Ruslan Khubaev is charged under Part 3 of Article 212, Part 2 of Article 213, Part 1 of Article 318; Leonid Panin - under Part 3 of Article 212, Part 2 of Article 213, Part 1 of Article 318; Alexander Kozevin - under Part 3 of Article 212, Part 2 of Article 213 and Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Igor Berezyuk pled guilty in part - in the application of violence threatening life or health against power representative. Kozevin pled guilty in full, Panin - in part, Unchuk and Khubaev pled not guilty.

At the moment, the victims - the police officers - started giving their evidences. Today, five victims are present at the Tver Court room.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on December 11, 2010, more than five thousand football fans and nationalists rioted at Manege Square after the march in memory of Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the "Spartak" FC, who was shot dead in mass fight at night on last December 6. According to the authorities of Moscow, 32 people suffered in the riots.
