HRC "Memorial": kidnapped and murdered Dzhalka resident earlier was convicted for armed clash

In 2001, Ayub Dovletukaev, a resident of the village of Dzhalka of Gudermes District of the Chechen Republic, who was kidnapped and murdered in Chechnya, was sentenced on charges of involvement on the militants' side in the armed clash, which took place in the hospital of Gudermes, and he was serving his term in a psychiatric hospital. In 2005, unidentified armed men kidnapped Rustam Dovletukaev, his brother.

According to the villagers' story, after returning home, Ayub still suffered from his mental disorder, despite the treatment conducted. This was reported by the statement of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial", received by the editorial office of the "Caucasian Knot".

The message also states that on January 31, 2005, unidentified armed men kidnapped Rustam Dovletukaev, the Ayub's brother. On the same day, his body with signs of torture was found in the hospital of Gudermes.

The HRC "Memorial" emphasizes that no details of the kidnapping and murder of Ayub Dovletukaev are available and points out that the kidnappers could not go unnoticed in the village, since the house of the Dovletukaev family is situated near the heavily guarded houses of Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, Chairman of the Chechen Parliament, and Adam Delimkhanov, State Duma deputy from Chechnya.
