European and Russian painters take part in international symposium in North Ossetia
The Fifth International Arts Symposium "Alanika-2011" that opened on August 25 in Vladikavkaz has attracted masters of paintings, graphic arts, installation, and photo and video arts from Italy, Great Britain, France, Croatia, Poland, Ukraine, Israel and Azerbaijan. The republic is also visited by their colleagues from Moscow, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg and Makhachkala.
The International Symposium named "Alanika-2011" is held for the fifth time; and during this time, as stated by Nikolai Khlyntsov, Chairman of the Government of North Ossetia, the republic was visited by 150 painters from 13 countries.
"Every year, the geography of Russian regions and foreign countries, from where masters come to the International Symposium," he said. "The creative forum provides a unique opportunity for our people to get better acquainted with the works of the contemporary arts and learn more about the today's trends."
During the previous symposia, works of sculptors and painters were exposed for the public in the places most frequented visited by residents and guests of Vladikavkaz; the current forum is no exception.
