Foreign observers at election in Abkhazia promise to attend every polling station

The foreign observers who have arrived in Abkhazia have promised that they will be able to control the course of the presidential election.

Expert Mateusz Piskorski, President of the European Centre of Geopolitical Analysis, heading the observation mission of European countries, said that the mission comprises observers from Germany, Poland and Austria, including Deputies of the European Parliament and national parliaments. "The number of observers is quite enough to attend all the polling stations," said Mr Piskorski.

Araik Sargsyan, Vice-President of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems and a member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, said that he is the only official representative of Transcaucasian countries. "Should the upcoming elections be recognized fair by the people of Abkhazia, then, all the statements of the US State Department, OSCE, European Union and Georgia will be secondary for me," said the Armenian politician.
