Woman from Dagestan reports kidnapping and murder of her husband

Shamil Alisultanov, a resident of Kaspiisk, who had been missing since August 19, was found murdered in the Buinaksk District, said his wife Kamilla Mamaeva. According to her story, power agents had to do with her husband's death.

"Yesterday, on August 23, I was called from the Buinaksk ROVD (District Interior Division) with a request to come there to identify the body of the unidentified man, who was killed in a special operation on that day. I recognized my husband there. He was shot once in the head from close distance, as traces of gunpowder could be seen near the bullet entrance hole," Ms Mamaeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"On August 19 in the lunch-time he left the house in his slippers to get the baby food from the policlinic, located five-minute walk away from home, and never returned. He took only the coupon for baby food, a package and a telephone with him," said the woman.

"My husband was abducted by power agents," she stated.

The woman said that her husband was registered by the police. "In 2006 Shamil was sentenced for allegedly helping militants, although there was nothing of the kind there. Last year he was released, but the police did not leave him alone. Whatever could happen in the city, they came to us with a search warrant and behaved very rudely and aggressively," said Mamaeva.

According to her story, they have two minor children; her husband worked as a labourer at construction sites.

The press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs (NIA) of Dagestan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they knew nothing about the incident with Alisultanov; however, they confirmed the fact of a special operation in the Buinaksk District. According to their version, on August 23 policemen killed a man in a shootout, who opened fire on them; later they found arms and ammunition at the venue.
