Moscow theatres are ready to cooperate with Georgian stage director Sturua
A number of popular Moscow theatres have expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Georgian stage director Robert Sturua, said Alexander Pudin, advisor of Deputy Moscow Mayor Liudmila Shvetsova.
The readiness to undertake theatrical performances jointly with the outstanding stage director Robert Sturua was expressed by the Mossovet and Ermolova Theatres, the Bronnaya Theatre, "Sovremennik" and the Gogol Theatre, said Mr Pudin.
Earlier, the intention to cooperate with the director was expressed by Alexander Kalyagin, head of the Theatre "Et Cetera", and Iossif Paikhelgauz, artistic director of the Theatre "School of Modern Play", the "Interfax" reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that dismissal of Sturua, head of the Shota Rustaveli State Drama Theatre, became known on August 16. He was dismissed by the order of Nikoloz Rurua, who later explained his decision by the fact that the director had made xenophobic statements.
