A supposed gunman killed in Kabardino-Balkaria had been acquitted by the jury

A participant of armed underground killed on August, 16, in Kabardino-Balkaria had formerly been criminally liable for participation in a paramilitary group and robbery but was acquitted by the jury. This was an information from the investigative bodies of the republic.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that on August, 16, a supposed gunman was killed and a policeman wounded in a skirmish in the settlement of Baksanenok, Baksan district of KBR. A Makarov gun and a grenade F-1 were found on the killed man.

The man turned out to be a twenty-seven-years-old Arsen Mollaev who was called to account in autumn of 2010 for participation in a paramilitary group but acquitted by the jury this June and released, a representative of the republican investigative bodies reported.

According to well informed sources, Arsen Mollaev was detained once again on June, 12, this year, after the murder of Hasan Bogatyrev, Deputy Head of the Center of struggle against extremism of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of KBR in Baksan. Some time later he and other detainees were released.

It should be reminded that Bogatyrev was killed in a special operation on detention of participants of armed underground. In a private house, Kalmykov street, 53, Bogatyrev and a senior lieutenant who accompanied him ran into armed people who opened fire upon them. As a result of the skirmish Bogatyrev was killed and the above mentioned policeman wounded.
