Kidnapping of Zhovbatyrov in investigated in Ingushetia

At the present time, the circumstances of kidnapping of Vakha Zhovbatyrov, a resident of Ingushetia, are being clarified, said Akhmed Kotiev, Secretary of the Ingush Security Council.

According to Dolotkhan Dorsivova, the mother of the kidnapped person, on August 4 in the afternoon, armed persons appeared in Kavkazskaya Street of the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya in Ingushetia, where she lives with her husband and three sons; the agents cordoned off the residential area. At about 10:00 p.m. Vakha Zhovbatyrov went to the evening prayer at the mosque, located 500 meters away from his house.

"Neighbours said that three cars drove up to Vakha; armed men wearing helmets and masks jumped out of the cars, about 20 persons in total. One of them hit Vakha on the head with a rifle butt; then they all dragged my son into a car and drove away to some unknown place," continues Ms Dorsivova.

She added referring to neighbours that the young man was shouting loudly and calling for help, but nobody dared to get out of the nearby houses.

The mother asserts that her son had never dealt with any IAFs (illegal armed formations) and has nothing to do with any militants.

The Security Council of the Republic of Ingushetia has confirmed the receipt of Dolotkhan Dorsivova's application. Now, an investigation is underway; all the power agencies of Ingushetia have been involved. The Ombudsman of the Republic of Ingushetia Djambulat Ozdoev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he is also involved in the disappearance of Vakha Zhovbatyrov.
