The tenants of the houses exploded by military men in Chechnya will receive compensations
The tenants of a five-storey house in Khankalskaya street, No 90, in the town of Grozny exploded by Russian military men in November, 2002, will receive indemnity payment for their lost dwellings. The respective instruction has been signed by Chairman of the Government of Chechnya Odes Baisultanov.
It should be reminded that six five-storey houses located near the chief military base of federal forces Khankala in Grozny were exploded by the military. The dwelling houses were destroyed after the gunmen shot down a transport aircraft while it was making a landing approach at the military airfield.
“In November, 2002, after the gunmen shot down a military transport aircraft above Khankala base as a result of which over one hundred Russian servicemen perished the military undertook a retaliatory action. They evicted all the families living in six five-storey houses in Khankalskaya street and then the houses were exploded”, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was told in the Administration of Grozny.
He reported that about one hundred families lost their dwellings as a result.
This action of the military caused a sharp protest of Head of the republic Ahmat Kadyrov, however the military command declared that it was done for the purpose of providing flight security of federal forces aviation.
Now, according to the instruction of the Government of Chechnya, 39 out of the list of those who suffered from the actions of the military will receive indemnity payment to a sum of 350 thousand rubles for the dwellings and property lost as a result of the military operations.
