Minister of Interior Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria had a meeting with mothers of those suspected of terrorism

Sergey Vasiliev, police colonel, Minister of Interior Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria, had a meeting with a group of mothers whose sons were in federal search for suspicion of committing especially grave crimes against the citizens of the republic, including terror-related ones.

The Minister reminded the women that the legislation in force allowed concluding an agreement with the investigation which stipulated special procedure of trial. This means, according to Sergey Vasiliev’s explanation, that if a person having a wanted notice comes to law enforcement bodies on his or her own free will and is remorseful of his of her actions the person gets minimum penalty stipulated by the Criminal code of Russia.

Addressing the Minister the women said that they did not vindicate their children from charge but wished in collaboration with the authorities to take them out of criminal groups developing activities in the territory of KBR, a report on the web-site of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria dated August, 8, runs.

“I had expected my son to become a professor, a scientist, but now he is in search as a criminal, - one of the mothers said. – Killing other people they are killing us, too”.

The mothers declared their wish to prepare a video message to their sons and post it on the Net because they had lost any kind of contacts, some of them over three years ago, “Rossiiskaya Gazeta” reports.

The Minister guaranteed thorough and fair investigation and strict observance of their rights to all those who voluntarily surrendered arms.
