Residents of Kabardino-Balkaria to demand solution of interethnic problems at rally

Today, a meeting of the initiative group of citizens, discussing the agenda of all-republic's rally, scheduled for September 10, 2011, was held in Nalchik. The initiative group included representatives from Kabardian and Balkar villages of the republic.

At the meeting, the members of the initiative group emphasized that Kabardino-Balkaria still faced unsolved serious social and economic problems, criminalization of society, republic's residents felt insecurity, unemployment continued rising, living standards fell, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to the members of the initiative group, lack of focused work on youth and the younger generation is of particular concern. And outflow of the workforce causes changes in the ethnic and political map of the region that in the future will inevitably strengthen separatist sentiments, the public activists believe.

At the all-republic's rally the initiative group intends to discuss such issues as alignment of inter-religious dialogue, solution of interethnic and migration problems, providing basic security for the citizens.

Besides, the rally participants will demand to transfer the management of land resources intended for agricultural purposes from the district administrations to municipalities.
