Flights between Yerevan and Tbilisi resumed

On August 5, after a break of 7 months, the flights on the route Tbilisi-Yerevan, terminated in January because of the loss, were resumed.

A small plane "Siardg", meant for 50 passengers, and "Airbus", accommodating over 200 people, are involved in servicing this voyage. This was told by Nana Avetisova, Spokesperson of the national airline "Armavia", to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The representatives of the Company TRICHK ("Rise") told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that all flight tickets for the route Yerevan-Tbilisi scheduled for August 6 had already been sold. Today, the price of return tickets, that is, for the route Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan, is 62,500 drams or about 200 US dollars. Flights will take place daily in the morning.

At present, apart from planes, the route from Yerevan to Tbilisi can be done by train in 12 hours; the cost of train return tickets comprises 18,000 drams (about 50 US dollars). Besides, taxis cruise between the two capitals, a one-way fare comprises 6000 drams (18 US dollars) and a travel lasts about 7 hours.
