Azerbaijani rights defenders hold action "Songs of freedom in non-free country"

In Azerbaijan, human rights organizations conduct a campaign to bring attention of the world public to human rights violations in the country. This was reported by Leila Yunus, the director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy.

The human rights campaign "Songs of freedom in non-free country" is being held in connection with the fact that in 2012 Baku will host the Song Contest "Eurovision".

Within this campaign the Azerbaijani human rights activists plan to conduct public disputes, distribute printed materials about the situation in the country and make appeals to Mekhriban Alieva, the head of the contest organizing committee, the wife of the President, the Radio Liberty reports.

The International Song Contest "Eurovision-2012" will be held in Baku on May 22, 24, and 26. 2012.
