RFU enforced penalties against the football club "Anji"
Today, the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU) has fined the football club (FC) "Anji" by 600 thousand roubles for failing to ensure order during the match with the FC "Zenit". In case of repeated violations the football club from the city of Makhachkala will have to play two matches on a neutral field, the RFU's official website reports.
On July 24, during the match of "Anji" and "Zenith" in Makhachkala, several conflicts between the fans of the football clubs and between the fans and law enforcement agents occurred. The match had been stopped for several minutes because of the disturbances; clashes between local and guest fans had occurred in the grandstands, some of the fans had been detained at the exit from the stadium.
Summarizing the results of the CDC's meeting, the RFU enforced against the FC "Anji" a penalty: it should conduct two matches at a neutral stadium in another city with a probation period of 3 months.
Furthermore, each of the FCs "Anji" and "Zenit" was fined by 100 thousand roubles for the unlawful actions of their fans. And the FC "Anji" will have to pay a fine of 500 thousand roubles for failing to ensure public order and safety at the stadium, the RFU's website states.
