Batumi sets new khachapuri record
Yesterday, on July 29, a new record in baking a giant Adzharian khachapuri was set in Batumi.
"The giant khachapuri was brought to Batumi Boulevard, where during five minutes the journalists had an opportunity to capture it on video and photo cameras," said Baiya Salukvadze, one of the organizers of the event.
According to her, the 8-meter khachapuri was eaten in 1 minute 33 seconds, without even allowing cutting it.
To bake such a khachapuri, the bakers took 200 kg of flour, 30 kg of oil, 1000 eggs, and 100 kg of cheese, the "News-Georgia" reports.
Last year a 6-meter khachapuri was baked in Adzharia. Then the bakers took 100 kg of flour, 70 kg of cheese, 20 kg of oil, and 150 eggs. By the New Year, Adzharians plan to improve their record once more and to bake a 12-meter khachapuri, the "Georgia Online" reports.
