Car voyage "Sochi-Torino-Sochi" finished

Six Sochi residents in two cars drove around the cities where the Olympic Games had been held at different times. The Russians were interested in experience of the use of the Olympic facilities, and also paid attention to the way of solving ecological problems.

Automobile trip started on June 20. It was aimed at popularizing the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The route of the automobile trip has been traced through France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria. Members of the Sochi informal delegation visited cities of Chamonix, St. Moritz, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Innsbruck, Grenoble, Albertville and Turin.
Participants of the automobile trip visited a private museum at Innsbruck with a special exposition dedicated to the Winter Games of 1964 and 1976 (cities of Innsbruck in Austria and St Moritz in Switzerland hosted Winter Olympics twice). Sochi residents presented to the museum a video film about the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics and Sochi souvenirs.

"It is noteworthy that all the sports facilities, left after the Olympic Games, are actively used," says Alexander Goldobin, the initiator of the automobile trip, and continues: "A lot of facilities had been redeveloped for commercial or entertainment centres, some of them had been sold to private owners."
Participants of the car voyage hope to use the experience of the European countries in the preparation of Sochi for the 2014 Olympic Games.
