Adzharia residents affected by disaster

In Georgia, the landslide came down and hailstorm damaged mountainous villages in the Autonomous Republic of Adzharia.

According to Malkhaz Katamadze, an assistant to the head of the district administration, on July 21 in the night hailstorm hit seven villages of Khulo District, and a landslide damaged houses.

"As a result, disaster also destroyed a bridge and damaged roads. Because of the landslide came down, a family had to be urgently evacuated – people were brought to a safe place," said Mr Katamadze.

On the scene, special equipment was mobilized. At present, road traffic has been already restored. Rehabilitation works are under way in the district, the "News-Georgia" reports.
