ECtHR obliges Russia to pay 45,000 euros to mother of the child killed in Chechnya

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has satisfied the lawsuit filed by Kameta Khashueva, the mother of Mamed Bagalaev, who was accidentally killed during a special operation of Russian power agents and ordered Russia to pay 45,000 euros to her.

On August 1, 2003, in the city of Shali, a skirmish burst out, as a result of which a bullet accidentally hit the chest of the 11-year-old Mamed, who was playing in his yard with his younger brother Malik. Mamed died without regaining consciousness.

Russian authorities deny any involvement of them in the death of the boy, stating that militants were shooting, the "Interfax" reports.

The Strasbourg Court has supported the lawsuit for compensation to the victim, having found Ms Khashueva's evidences convincing.
