Western Georgia bore damages from pelting rains
The settlement of Jikhaskari, Zugdidi district of Western Georgia, bore strong damages as a result of a heavy rain and flood in the river of Tarchia, highways and bridges were also troubled.
“The flood was so strong that the stream carriedd off livestock”, Head of Municipality of Zugdidi district Alexander Kobalia said.
As a result of the flood of July, 11, 7 or 8 families were seriously injured and will receive aid from local authorities. “Representatives of the Munipality got to know the situation and extent of damage on-site”, Head of Municipality emphasized.
According to Kobalia, a special committe is currently calculating the damage caused to the dcistrict by the natural calamity, “Novosti-Georgia” reports.
At night of July, 5, a great part of agricultural crops was destroyed because of overflowing the banks of the rivers in the South of Georgia, in Adigen, Aspiondz and other districts.
