Organizers of the mountain multi-race in Adygea plan to make it annual
The organizers of the mountain multi-race "Caucasus Adventure Race 2011", which was held on July 8-10 in the territory of the Lagonaki Highland and the Fisht-Oshten Massive of the Republic of Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory, intend to start holding it every year. In the future, they plan to add the marine component to the race.
"We plan to hold the race every year; the Adygea's potential for the purpose is great: it's the most peaceful region; besides the sea is nearby," said Maxim Dmitriev, the race organizer. "In the future, we'll surely add the marine component; though, of course, mountains are the main point for the 'Caucasus Adventure Race'."
According to one of Adygea's tourist operators, the multi-race "Caucasus Adventure Race" can attract thousands of tourists from all over Russia. And the first experience with the race has confirmed it.
"As a whole, the race went well, although the weather was not ideal: a thick fog on the Lagonaki Plateau complicated the route and slowed down the teams' speed; however, moving through the fog was more pleasant than under the scorching sun," said Maxim Dmitriev.
According to his story, none of the racers could cover the route to the end, since it was very complicated; the winner was defined by the maximum score of points.
In total, there were 50 teams and 130 racers aged 18-50.
