Retransmission centre burnt down in Dagestan

On July 11, in the Tsumadin District of Dagestan, unidentified criminals attacked the Radio and Television Broadcasting Centre (RTBC); they destroyed and burned it down.

According to local law enforcement bodies, at about 00:50 a.m., in the village of Agvali, unidentified persons attacked the RTBC object, which was equipped, apart from the radio and TV equipment, with equipment of the companies "VimpelCom", MTS, "Rostelecom" and "MegaFon". The assailants roped the guard, smashed the equipment and set fire to the building.

The mechanic of the Centre was taken into the woods by the bandits, from where he managed to escape, the "RIA Novosti" reports.

The building and the equipment burned down completely. The amount of damage caused by the attack and arson of the building is estimated at several million roubles. The search of the assailants is conducted in the forest of the Tsumadin District, the "Rosbalt" reports.

Currently, the village has no telephone communication.
