Coalition parties of Armenia set up group for dialogue with opposition
The Armenian coalition parties have formed a group fore holding a dialogue with the opposition and are ready to meet them within the next ten days, said Armen Arzumanyan, the press secretary of the President of Armenia.
The ruling coalition includes the Republican Party of Armenia, headed by President Serzh Sargsyan, the parties "Orinats Erkir" (Rule of Law) and "Prosperous Armenia".
"The coalition parties have formed a working group, consisting of two representatives from each party," the "News-Armenia" quotes Mr Arzumanyan as saying.
In the coming days, the list of the members of the group will be published; and the first debate session will be possible, the "Armenia Today" reports.
Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the leader of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC), said in his speech at a rally on June 30 that he agreed to start a dialogue; however, "not on secondary but on major issues." At the same rally the opposition announced that the dialogue could be around the early parliamentary and presidential elections.
