Natives of Chechnya in Zelenokumsk held an action in support of the Gafurovs
An action in support of the Gafurovs passed off near Soviet district court of Stavropol region. Three Gafurov brothers are defendants of the case of the conflict in Zelenokumsk which took place in November, 2010.
About 50 natives of Chechnya, women and children among them, took part in the action in support of the Gafurovs. They came out with slogans: “The sufferers on the dock”, “We protest against preconceived attitude towards Gafurov brothers in court”, “We ask Prosecutor General’s to step in this conflict”, “Interfax reports.
“Our goal is to draw attention to the whole situation round Gafurov brothers. When General Gorovoy who was Chief of General Directorate of Interior Affairs at the moment arrived some time ago he said it was not an ethnic problem but a case of hooliganism. But it seems to me that the process is going on like this just because we are Chechens”, “Novosti Stavropol and Stavropol region” quotes the defendants’ elder brother Alim.
